Writing Session

Our writing booster groups are there to help children with story sequencing and to be able to re-tell a story using pictures. This is a good way of developing children's memory skills and recollection skills, but also gives them that extra time to listen to a story and to really take in what they are hearing.  The small group will listen to a familiar story while putting the pictures in order, retell the story verbally to their partner or the small group and then rehearse their sentences before writing them down. They will then have an opportunity to edit their work looking at features such as punctuation, letter spacing and handwriting.
